The pellet is a fuel made of wood, free of any moisture, compressed into small cylinders without any added adhesive. The caloric yield of pellets is 4500 kcal / kg
Pellets are a new fuel that responds to the demand for clean and cheap energy. The heating solution with pellets gives the possibility to save on the heating of the house in the order of 50% - 70%
Pellets belong to the category of renewable energy sources and can be produced from wood processing and agricultural crop residues as well as energy crops. It is in compressed form, 6mm-8mm in diameter and 10mm-50mm in length.
Pellets are also ecological fuels because:
Their combustion has a zero carbon balance (CO2) of no
contributes to the greenhouse effect - because its quantities
carbon dioxide (CO2) released during combustion
biomass are again bound by plants to create biomass.
The minimal existence of sulfur contributes significantly to their limitation emissions of sulfur dioxide (SO2) responsible for acid rain.
Other advantages are:
Since biomass is a domestic source of energy, its use in energy contributes significantly to reducing dependence on imported fuels and improving the trade balance, securing energy supply and saving the currency.
The energy use of biomass in an area increases employment in rural areas with the the use of alternative crops (various types of oilseed rape, sorghum, reed), the creation of alternative markets for traditional crops (sunflower, etc.) and the containment of the population in their homes, thus contributing to the socio-economic development of the region.
The pellets are made from compressed wood sawdust and sawdust (wood waste) and used in the form of small cylinders as biofuel for domestic and industrial use such as Fireplaces, Stoves, Factory Burners, Bakeries, Hotels, Pizzerias, Large Industrial & amp; Public Areas etc. The pellets will become biofuel in the period of economic crisis, especially afterwards simulating the price of heating oil and that of traffic because pellets are a much cheaper fuel than oil.
As an example, burning 2 tons of pellets has the same thermal performance as 1,000 liters of oil. Pellets in Greece will become the fuel of the future !!
Why should I use wood pellet?
Pellet is more economical to use than oil. It has stable quality and humidity (8 - 10%).
It is clean and easy to use and store as it is packed in 15 kilos.
Pellet stoves are the ideal solution for apartments and business spaces that have the ability to extract a small chimney.
Its efficiency is greater than 93%
No continuous feed is required because they have a tank for fuel. It needs to be filled once a week twice (depending on usage and volume).
The warmth and the sense of fire are the same as the wood.
They can ecologically and fully meet the heating needs of an average home without the use of another heating source.
What is their impact in our economy?
At domestic level, the production of fuel from domestic raw materials means a similar reduction in fuel imports.
At private level, the use of pellets in replacement of conventional fuels (oil, natural gas, electricity) means an economy that can also reach 70% of total heating costs. Even if replacement of the boiler and burner is required, the savings are such that the investment is depreciated in less than three periods of use.
